The Frog Princess ATC

Made this ATC for UKS ATC Fairytale swap :) I loved making an opening card and using glossy accents on her crown and on the frog :)

The Stamp is Tilda as the Frog Princess, paper is CherryArtes Bedtime buds... and water colour pencils :)

The story inside reads.....
Once upon a time in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.
The frog hopped onto her lap and said, "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper young prince that I am, and then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and feel forever grateful doing so.
"That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sautéed frog legs seasoned in a wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled to herself and thought, "I really don't think so."

My latest crafty bits...

Well having been reading the boards on UKScrappers.co.uk I came across a thread for ... toilet roll books. and matchbox advent calendars.....

Here are my takes on the ideas :)

I do offer these for sale in your own colour choices.... The book can be filled with your own photographs and the tags in the centre are for you to write little messages .

Please contact me if you would like to purchase either of these :)

Birmingham Songsters on Tour

I FINALLY got to meet my mate Dave and his gorgeous wife Audrey! Dave has been a wonderful source of comfort for me and a brilliant friend. I have for the past 2-3 years been tested to human limits bit mentally and spiritually. Dave has been a constant in my life. He has been a support when i have needed it, a step up when im down, an ear when ive needed to talk. A booster of moral, a father telling me off when ive been out of line.... I've phoned Dave in tears when i was tested after the death of my uncle and then when a rather bad situation occured in March that left me feeling listless and very nearly suicidal.

Over the years Dave has made me laugh and helped me cry. He has helped me stay on my spiritual path and bullied me to get out of my jammies and go to church. There have been many a listening ears and those closest to me know of the troubles that have landed on my doorstep. Ray, Troy and all those on SA3 have kept me and Katie upheld in prayer.

Here are some photos of our weekend spent with a group of talented and friendly Salvationists...

They kept audiences mesmerised for hours. Their music and message was uplifting and hopefully ministered to alot of souls who needed a boost in faith!!

Singing in the rain!!!!

Here are pooooooor Birminghman Songsters who had marches through Ayr playing and singing.... waving Timbrels and generally making people smile and wave....

The rains poured and still they stood and sang .... You raise me up... As i stood and listened to them singing, drenched intheir uniform I was reminded of a verse from the Bible ....

Hosea 6:3 (NLT)

Oh, that we might know the Lord!
Let us press on to know Him.
He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of the spring rains

SOS Support our Squaddies !!!!

Today i opened the newspaper i get delivered once a week... a wee freebie that i normally dont read just skim thru it and put it out for recycling.

On the front cover is a request for helping our Soldiers.

These people whatever your political feelings on the war in Afghanistan are working in the most dangerous places doing the most dangerous job known to man. They do this for poor wages and for a public that wants to support them but struggles with the values of a war that isnt really our fight.

I have great respect for these men and women. Yes women are soldiers and fight frontline just like the men. There is nothing there but sand, sand and more sand and vast amounts of hostility.

They are doing a job that risks their life and limbs and they dont have the equipment needed to do their job... we never see them go on strike over pay and conditions. THey just get on with the job they signed up to do. Protecting us from bad people and protecting the locals too.

Soldiers put up hospitals, build schools, sort out water supplies to some very poor areas that maybe never had the resources to provide for themselves.

They bring in medical supplies to some poor people who live in terrible conditions and they do it all with humour and smiles.

I have decided that today i will drag myself out of thet depression i have been in for a while now and provide a smile for wounded soldiers. Can you imagine being unwell in hospital and you lie there enduring your treatment, you cant have visitors and the hospital are under extreme pressure due to facilities and outside factors.

what is making a few cards that will take me a few days, in comparison to that, which they provide.

Any other card makers.... PLEASE go to this website Support our Squaddies

If you cant make cards is there something else you can help with? can your playgroup draw pictures? can you take photos of local areas to remind them that they are coming home to something nice....
